Coming soon on patchpool: Arrows for ArcSyn - pre-order now and save 20+%

I've just released my first soundset for SPC ArcSyn:

Arrows for SPC ArcSyn deeply explores this unique synth, unfolding it's raw and untamed timbres, it's lush and embracing pad sounds, it's dark drones and futuristic textures, expressive leads and intricate tempo-synced sequences, wondrous soundscapes, one-finger-chords, ambient miniatures, brass sounds, keys, crystalline bells, delicate sweeps, punchy basses and plucks and it's expressive vowel filter making for some very human sounding vocal sounds.

Inter-modulating LFOs and well structured LFO-sequences breathe a lot of life into these sounds which can be used for a wide variety of styles as the numerous audio and video examples demonstrate. In quite a few patches all 16 slots in the modulation matrix were used to create complex modulation routings and provide as much user control over a patch as musically sensible.

All patches have the modulation wheel assigned, most also use aftertouch and velocity in order to provide expressively playable synthruments. You can view/download the PDF for Arrows with more details, the licence agreement and the patch list including playing tips and detailed descriptions for each patch here.

All demos below were produced entirely with ArcSyn using only patches from Arrows, no post-processing was applied apart from a limiter on the outputs and some volume automation, if several instances of ArcSyn were used in a track. Only one track uses external reverberation as mentioned in the track title.

This synth is truly dangerous, a single SciFi-patch from Arrows in action:

I knew from the start that the vocal filter in ArcSyn is something special, so today I explored it some more and came up with this vocal patch, Tuvan throat singing on acid, this synth can sing

mprovising with a single instance of ArcSyn using the preset Tuvan Meditation, modwheel action for additional vibrato/distortion, aftertouch introduces the sub-octave.

Haven't had so much fun jamming with a synth for long, here is a little evening synth funk impro with 2 layered patches for the bassline, one of them also played in the higher register for inserts - and the main lead Dirty Benny:

Two fresh patches from Arrows in an ambient improvisation, audio and video, they slightly differ because some random modulators are involved:

This synth delivers, incredible low end, punchiness, tightness, glitch-ness, silk, mayhem, craziness and a lot of fun. Two fresh patches in a brief ambient groove sort of thing.

    Two fresh demos with Arrow-presets:

This is an argument between 3 presets:

Just finalized this patch and had to play a little impro with it live on video - Penta Waltz, tweaking the modwheel on the fly.

Something a little spooky: improvising with the patch Wolves Cry.

    short description from the PDF/patchlist:

The glissando range in OSC1 is velocity sensitive (ENV2), so is the envelope modulating the shape/timbre of all 3 oscillators. AT introduces vibrato, MW introduces OSC3 which adds ring modulation glissandos to the sonic picture.

Love the sounds you're coaxing from this! I'm finding it hard not to create complete weirdness. Reminds me of monophonic 80s machines like a heavily patchcorded MS-20.

Thanks, ArcSyn does cover a lot of ground from more conventional patches to total SciFi mayhem, I'm somewhat following the flow of this synth but I'm also twisting it into not so obvious directions, the LFO sequencer can do do much...

Two fresh patches in action in a rather sick beat, Drum Trio meets Frozen Brain.

    Short descriptions from the PDF:

    Drum Trio
Three oscillators compose a drum trio sequence in 4/4, the FX section is running in parallel mode, so FX1 processes the kick drum, FX3 adds delays to snare/hi-hat and FX processes both signals. MW introduces slightly randomized, tempo-synced filter modulation.

MW modulates OSC shape in both oscillators and increases cutoff/decreases resonance in both LP filters, AT introduces pitch modulation (via LFO 7/8), PB is set to +/- 12 semitones.
