    Awesome selection Bobbotov.

Really looking forward to this. Sample downloaded and I've got it fired up already. Thanks again and this one WILL be quite a challenge.

    Cheers.

Don't pass out from shock- but while I was too late for the Reboiler challenge, I'll actually have an entry for this one... I'll probably upload my just-for-the-heck-of-it Reboiler track at some point, too.

This is my entry for challenge #2. I wanted to try this without using any generators or resonators - only effects. I may take another shot at it using psyGEN. I bought it a couple of weeks ago, but haven't really used it yet.

I used Adobe Audition CS6 to pitch shift and stretch parts of the original sample. I also stitched together certain segments form the original to create a 5 minute drone of the guttural singing. Each sample was run through an assortment of u-he Uhbik effects. I also created two Padshop patches with the bell sound at the end of the clip, and created three tracks with them.

Hi! I decided to tread on unfamiliar ground here. This is actually my first "remix" ever .

Pits Of Kronos was performed with Ableton Live. I sliced and reformed five small pieces of the sample and fiddled around with them by rearranging, reversing, pitching, stretching and routing through various VST (Waves, SoundToys, Tone Boosters, Antares, Sonic Charge, Lexicon and some of Ableton's own).

Unfortunately I don't have access to proper studio monitors atm, so headphones are quite essential to get the whole picture...hope you enjoy.

This was absolutely amazing Utu. I can't believe you did all that to that sample. So good. Keep it up.

    Cheers,

I'm impressed with all entries so far. Gonna be tough to vote on these but I knew the musicians here would come up with some interesting interpretations. And that is what it is all about.

I used a couple instances of Fruity Granulator to iterate tightly over a fairly small portion of the sample, and loaded the entire wave into 3xOsc as if it were a single cycle waveform (something I like doing to add some noisy digital grit). Effects were Betabugs W1 Limiter, Fruity Parametric EQ, NI Driver, NI Transient Master, Valhalla Ubermod, Valhalla Room. Reversal, more dynamics processing, and timestretching in Sound Forge.

Here is my entry for the OSD #2. I tried to keep some of the original feel of the throat singing, instead of my normal "manipulate well beyond the point of recognition" treatment to source sounds.
    https://soundcloud.com/rabbitsquirrel/i-heard-the-panic-in-his-voice

I am working with my minimal setup right now, so this is all done (frighteningly enough) in Audacity. Pure, basic, destructive manipulation.
I have really been liking the other entries so far, so I am excited to join in!

So is it alright if the sample remains perceptible in places?

It is not stated in contest rules that initial sumple must be processed beyond recognition.
