    Studio pictures

Post here your studio pics. Here's mine, a little studio in pocket format. I don't need much to do my thing. And less is more, they say ;-)

More or less the same here... I don't even need to post a picture, it's just an ld pentium 4 desktop and a yamaha AN1 x to send the midi signals to the computer, that's it...
I'd never go back to hardware, but studio pictures sure used to be more exciting once...

Laptop, QuNexus, and EWI USB. Running Sonar X3 now. Not shown: about 14 VSTi, and well over 100 effects. Yikes!

Homemade Computer desk, I am pretty sure I have posted this in another thread.

Coincidentally enough, I finally started clearing out the remains of my old studio from 1997-2008 today; my ex has sold the house and the ol' studio shed is slated to be torn down.
This was it back in it's heyday, probably 99 or so:

Oh lordy lordy now that's what I call a setup m8 lol, the size of them monitors, what make are they? or are they home made? and what size is that flat screen in the first picture? Look's a little like mine. Mine is a 40" made by Samsung, only really used for me xbox360 of course and is that a Roland 303 I can see there in the 2nd picture?

Nice pics and nice looking gear.

I think I posted this pic of my set up elsewhere on the forum.

the main monitor is 47" LG and the secondary one is 26" Viewsonic, the second workstation is a 21" Viewsonic. Originally it was built as a gaming/entertainment center, but then my daughter got interested in recording, so off we went. She still plays her Uke and guitar, but lost interest in the recording.

And yes, The ol' MC303. I still have all the gear in the second pic (minus the audio CD burner), including the iMac Rev. b

It's not the size of the rig, it's the size of the creativity at the controls!

I've been slimming down my hardware setup as I crawl/retreat back ITB a bit more. Not having the Octatrack for awhile has made me really learn some of the stuff I have, and rediscover the differences in workflow that work better ITB in some cases.

So don't feel too bad about a modest setup. Btw, you have me beat on VSTi, and by a long mile on effects lol.

I thought I'd posted to this already..or maybe it was to another thread like it. Anyway, if this is a double-up, then let me know.

Here's my "den of musical iniquity"..tucked away under the stairs and completely "in-the-box"..only things missing from these pics are the Arturia MiniLab abd my Korg nanoKontrol2.

Hmm, well, Thou Hast A Pointe. And I do travel to where the jobs are (I'm a computer consultant) so if it doesn't fit in my two travel suitcases, it doesn't come with me. The only thing missing is a QuNeo now!

Yes I totally agree m8, that's it in a nut shell!!

It is definitely the amount of creativity at the controls. Imagination is the key factor here. One could have the most expensive rig going to date, but without imagination to use it I suppose there would be nothing really.

I have an Oxygene 25. A pair of ROKIT6 KRK's & a Focustrite 6usb, my headphones and my laptop and that's it, that all I need really. I would like to have an external mixer though, especially for when I am recording snippits from my cassette tape machine being a Micro Compact AIWA LCX-137 it has always worked a real treat and even though it's quite old now well it still doe's the job playing my old cassette tapes

Nice, I have an Onkyo cassette deck at home and a Panasonic at work (that I picked up in excellent condition for $8 at a thrift store). I haven't used them for recording, but until recently I did a lot of stuff on a Tascam 488mkII multitrack cassette recorder. That beast just takes up too much room, though
    Meh.

I find that traditional controllers don'twork well for me.. I need tactile input with visual feedback, and the QuNeo and QuNexus give me that.. I can finally PERFORM my music in! Pressure, touch, wind, bite.. all minions to my control! The EWI and QuNeo and QuNexus are the Holy Trinity of control.. as much as I live in my head, I need my body to affect the world. And let me tell you, I have more power here in a 4x4 table than Abbey Road has ever had!

It's a wonderful time to be an electronic musician!

Different controllers can give different results, which is interesting. I recorded 80% of this album http://macofbionight.bandcamp.com/al...-classic-em-01 without a keyboard, using only the computer keyboard (both step-by-step and in real time), with no velocity or anything. Performing the "guitar" and the other solos and composing and performing everything else on the computer keyboard gave me a very different approach...
