This conversation between JMJ and Laurie Anderson is worthy of watching. Set aside 1-1/2 hours and enjoy. Both speak to the power of music to enlighten and, especially in their remarks regarding world shaking events (this was recorded only hours after the atrocities committed in Paris by terrorists) the power of musicians to provide emotional bridges in the wake of tragedy.
Also very interesting to me were their comments on getting inspiration from nature's sounds, the processing of found sounds, and using better sound reproduction technology to achieve a better ambience for listeners using Dolby Atmos and other new technologies.
