Some of you may be gamers and know about the hype of this new game, but the soundtrack is also worth listening to. Not really ambient, but with similar focus on sound textures:

Yes, agreed! Both Phase47 and I have been playing it since release. It's a masterpiece if you're in to chill games with tons of exploration and ambience. Love the music, the vibe, everything!

Yes this is one of those "...finally after all these years, they've made a game for me" moments! Not much music making going on though :/

On the subject of game soundtracks, Antichamber is one of my favs. I wouldn't say the game itself is worth paying full price for(imho), I had picked it up on humble bundle awhile back, but the soundtrack is available on bandcamp minus 1 bonus track called The Garden https://robinarnott.bandcamp.com/alb...r-double-album

Botanicula's another. The soundtrack's on youtube, I'm not sure how I'd describe that one.

Sean Murray, a long-time fan of the band, approached them to licence a single track for No Man’s Sky, and they were so inspired by the project that they ended up writing the music for it.

The Space Engine space simulator, which the article also recommends, looks interesting as well. I haven't tried it yet, but it's free.
