A vastly overlooked album from 1970 that had never made it to any charts but is one of the great albums from the time.
Edgar Winter - 'Entrance'
Entrance%281%29.jpg
Top composition, arrangement and performances in the style of Mose Allison.(EDIT - I paid closer attention to the composition this morning. I was surprised just how elementary it all is. Much of it are just chromatic scale movements up or down, He uses only a few composition tools, but manages to make lots of music using them. Now that I've noticed it, it's all pretty monotonous to listen to) Best heard playing through from first track to last.
1st side(album) is a single group of musical ideas that fit together with an opening and a closing in a jazz/rock opera style.
2nd side of tracks are each great as well!
The track 'Hung Up' you might recognize as a section from his later glam-rock hit 'Frankenstein'.
Writing and performances are shared between Edgar and his brother Johnny Winter.
Give it a chance..it's really a good album from that era although a commercial disappointment, just ahead of it;s time.
Edgar Winter - Piano, RMI electric piano, alto sax, vocal

I've had C418's album 148 on repeat this past week or so. I'd highly recommend it. The three introductory tracks are vocal, but none of the others are. It is comprised of a lot of minimalist house and IDM tracks.
