  • "Kayenta" by Blindcrake [ambient-ish acoustic]

Hello all, starting to transition from Logic to Reaper so I busted out the Shure and my beater acoustic. This is probably a little too rhythmic with the delay so decided to post it here in the non-ambient releases. Thanks for listening!

Transitioning from one daw to another is a great way to appreciate your old daw and mad skills with it I know both FL studio and Logic now. But i am super clumsy with logic. It has some advantages especially ambient production cause synths are very good (amazing to get so good program + synths for 200 euros). My workflow with FL is at least 10 times faster tough . I like the big ambient synth that comes in at 3 minute mark. Chill track, keep it up !

The guitar could have been better matched for this type of music I think. Reminded me of the mandolin used in the Led Zeppelin song "The Battle of Evermore".
I like to hear acoustic stringed instruments in electronic ambient...try using it another time, but pay more attention to details, how your picking/strumming it and so forth. and for God sake not so loudly...go easier.

Oh, one more thing...I didn't feel the slow LFO on the pitch did anything more then make it feel out of pitch and make me feel sea sick. Ppl use this effect I know, but I'm not a fan personally.

Too rhythmic for ambient? Maybe someone should tell Steve Roach to leave the drums out of his ambient stuff then. I think the piece is great. As a guitarist who also plays mandolin, I know the difference between a mandolin and a guitar, and I wasn't able to hear anything in the piece that sounded like a mandolin, other than perhaps the strumming style. There was one repeating motif through the whole thing that made me think of it as a drone piece.
