    a frenetic jazz piece using the great "archtop" sample guitar library for kontakt from impact soundworks (that I won on KVR for giving the library its name )
    the whole thing is derived from the 3rd movement of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata run through my software.

    Edited here and there, but kept rough to keep it sounding live

    Loved it! Cool and hectic simultaneously - nice trick ;)
    Must say I didn't pick up any Beethoven-y bits in there...what software did you use - if you don't mind letting on how you did it?

      thanks - it's software I write - scripting really - using Matlab. Basically I just permute all the pitch information (but leave the other info where it is)

        Interesting...alright, I confess, even though I work in IT I had to Google Matlab :lol:...but now I understand (only just) what you did. Amazing that you can basically perform maths on a composition and get highly musical results Incidentally, I'm not usually a fan of sampled guitar (for obvious reasons) but those archtop guitar samples are seriously nice

          That was quite a ride. The piece never seemed in danger if getting out of control or losing its shape and groove. I was playing it at a reasonable level earlier on and getting "the look" from the missus. I didn't manage to identify any Beethoven snippets either, but no matter. It was quite enjoyable, but the speed of some of those runs left me short of breath :phew:

          We use Matlab at the office for more "traditional" applications.
