Hot Hog Infusion - ElectroProg (Seismic Landmark)

This is the last in my series of remixes of old work, dating from February 2011. It sat on my hard drive gathering parity for almost 3 years, when I really ought to have finished it off. I have now addressed this failing. It has a hook line in there somewhere and layered arps to add to the confusion. This was the second of my beverage-inspired tracks and the last? in my TraceFusion series. The original track was recorded in one day. The remix took longer (10 hours - I think it was 5 2-hour sessions). This track features a lot of my favourite softsynths.




Right now I'm not sure what to do next. :dunno:

Nice work Tim I know what you mean about what to do next - whenever I finish a project I have a few days of inertia, even when my next project is already planned. It's like I have to give myself a little time to wind up the ol' elastic band again...Anyway, I'm looking forward to some new whatsisname material now :D

I've had over three years of inertia. During that time I've made 2 or 3 complete tracks, a remix, a guest appearance on an album and a few mastering projects. I also managed to remix 56 tracks (some of them 3 or 4 times), but I've had enough that. It's time to play.:eek:

The 2021/2022 remix/master of Hot Hog Infusion is up on SoundCloud. It was "completed" almost 6 months ago, but other things got in the way of music, and it faded from memory, like Sauron's Ring of Power. I was about to upload it a few days ago, and decided that some of the levelling needed adjusting. This should appear on an album this year, although not on my next one.


This remix features some synth substitutions, patch modifications, arrangement tweaks, and the usual EQ/panning/levelling adjustments.

This one is quite cheerful, unlike my general mood for the last 2 years.

It was fun making all those arps play together nicely

I wrote this one at the beginning of 2011, and then took a break from making new music for a couple of years while I completed the mixing of 50-60 tracks. In 2014 I thought that remix project was complete, but I started another round of remixes of approximately 30 of the more recent of these tracks which is now complete. I doubt whether I shall revisit them again, but I've said that before.

When I started working on new tracks in 2013, I found it very difficult to re-create the earlier Whatsisname sound, and began a slow drift towards a more "ambient" and/or cinematic style. I'm hoping to complete the remixing of some of these for a release later this year.
