LV-426 - ElectroProg (Seismic Corrosion)

"acid groove (ˈæsɪd ɡruːv)


A channel or ditch-like etching in a solid surface, sometimes caused by secretion of bodily fluids (typically blood) from xenomorphs known to inhabit LV-426, a satellite of Calpamos, in the Zeta Reticuli star system."


This one took 16 weeks (on and off, typically off). Every time I sat down to work on it, I seemed to get an idea for another project. I finally resolved to see it through last weekend.

This one is a little wild, most definitely NOT ambient :eek:

I layered a RedTron and Ultrasonique to get that phasing effect on the choir. The acid is all from Sytrus, naturally. I just uploaded a new version to SoundCloud (with a little extra modulation in the chillout section).

The next track is underway now, and with a much darker vibe than this. It might even feature a new synth, if I can figure it out in time.

Here is the 2021 remix of LV-426, for facehuggers everywhere.

This track underwent the usual levelling, panning and EQ shenanigans, with a judicious dollop of EQuivocate on the Z3ta+ synth. I also added a new Microtonic percussion part to the "chillout" sections of the track.

I hope you enjoy it.
