  • Refraktor (ElectroProg - Seismic Deformation)

I haven't had much time for making music lately. Problems at work, and lots of family stuff to deal with have left me short of time. It was with great relief that I eventually managed to produce a (hopefully) appropriate piece to (somewhat belatedly) mark the untimely passing of one of my early influences, Edgar Froese. I've always been captivated by the music of '72-'83 era Tangerine Dream, and I hope this track can reproduce some of the vibes of their '70s work.

Most of the synths on here are presets from Arturia's ModularV (the sequencer preset is by K. Schulze). All of the 'tron sounds are RedTron_SE

    Hold on to your lunch.

Excellent track - really dramatic mellotron surges and triffic TD sequences. Great work

I took a look at remixing this 6 or 7 months ago, for album release in the future (hopefully in late-2023). In the end, I decided that a remix was unnecessary, but due to some higher than desirable peak amps in the original, I re-mastered the track, just to be sure. You never know what those codecs will do

Beautiful work, although I must admit I preferred the first 3rd or so befoe the burbly sequencers kicked in.

The first 8 minutes (and the outro) was a late addition to this piece. I spent a couple of months putting the sequencer sections together and juggling various permutations around before I realised that I didn't have an intro. I planned to write a 2-3 minute introductory section, but it very quickly grew into a much longer form.

I've had comments in various places stating a preference for the intro, and to be honest, I'm quite pleased that there are people who actually like any of this stuff , let alone spending 18 minutes listening to it

Thanks very much for taking the time to listen and comment, Svartmetall
