I have just completed the 2021 remix/master of Ghosts over 3 evenings this week. It's another cosmetic update of the original track (from 2010), which will be appearing on an album next year. I encountered the same parameter problems due to a sequencer update that I saw in the last track, but I was expecting them this time. I adjusted the REFLEX free settings to remove some resonance. I slightly widened some of the panning, made little tweaks to the Plate reverb parameters, re-EQ'd all instruments, re-levelled and added Satin to the master bus. The track was then re-mastered in T-Racks5. This has a cleaner sound and a slightly different instrument balance than in the original (in the first post of this thread).

I confess I had not listened to the original, but this is a fantastic piece! Love the Berlin School feeling. There are also bits of Synergy-like influences in here, and TD, of course. A very clean and precise mix! Sounds great on my little iPad Pro speakers.

This one sounds cleaner than the original. I would hope that my mixing and mastering skills have improved in the eight years since the last version I also think it's easier to get a decent result during a later revisitation when the "pressure" is off, and the mixing is being performed as a "stand-alone" process. I'm glad it sounded good on your iPad. I checked the mix on my monitors, phones and the HiFi, but didn't try my phone or iPad. Thanks very much for the Synergy/TD references, but I've got a long way to go before I can justify that sort of praise.

I started another remix yesterday, and during the course of that exercise, the music has lost its "acid" base and taken on a "trance" aspect. I love surprises.

My upcoming new track - "Riven" features some decidedly unconventional mixing choices

Thanks very much for listening and commenting, SB. Glad you enjoyed it
