  • Very much Work In Progress...

    In fact, I shouldn't have uploaded to YouTube as I will delete it once finished, but I wanted to share the graphics side of things and it could be some time before I finish the music. I actually created the graphics, in Chaotica Fractals, back end of 2018 but I was always doing something other than getting down to the eight minute piece I needed for the graphics.

    Graphics is kinda trippy, in a way, albeit somewhat minimal, in a way. A black and white thing almost reminiscent of Spirograph. I certainly am happy with the way it turned out

    Musically, it ain't ambient. I experimented with a few sequenced layers, including something using NOIRE (nothing to write home about). I have asked my youngest son to create some percussion for me, in a Heavy Metal style, so that should be an interesting fusion haha!

    Anyway, here's the vid, and, yeah, I should have shown more patience and waited until the music track was finished

    I may not post anything useful, but at least I do it often

              Nice one. Let me know how you get on with it. I actually prefer it to all the other flame fractal applications as I find the interface easier to use and the animation feature, in my opinion, are better also.

                          Very lovely, subtle and hypnotic, and I really like the music. ...How long did it take to make the whole video? I have never done something like that, it looks complex but I guess it's not that hard when you know what you doing

                            Not sure how long it took me to create the animation for the above video. I don't track the time I lose to Chaotica I'm afraid, and I can spend a lot of time just experimenting. But you are right, of course, that as experience increases then certain tasks become easier and quicker to do.

                            I guess that the problem with flame fractals is that the guys that really know what they are doing, can knock up something that they can visualise in their heads in very quick time, and they also seem to know a lot about the history of flame fractals and the mathematics behind it.

                            I do not grasp the maths at all and everything I do is based on either experimentations or online tutorials.

                            But I never use another person's code to create my own and, instead, I try to understand how they achieved their end goal and use that to create my own from scratch. I generally always start with a blank canvas and if I don't it is usually based on something else I have done in the past.


                            Rendering the video, on my i7 laptop took around 90 hours in total. I am hoping that my new i9 desktop will be twice as quick.
