Potential "Relaxed Machinery Awards" brewing

Last two days we've been discussing the idea of having an awards show for ambient and related music, as well as all the creativity that we have at Relaxed Machinery Community - writing, poetry, painting, photography. I'd love for everyone here to jump in and be a part.

Relaxed Machinery is an idea - and a broad description that fits a lot of things... I don't want to call it the "Ambient Music Awards" because that leaves a lot out... first off - anything except music.

The thread below has people throwing ideas out for categories, how detailed, that it's a good idea, that the idea sucks, that there should be some funny categories (I will work "reverb" into a category somehow!) - this is the beginning. Jump in - add your thoughts here or there. I'll probably use survey monkey to do the voting.

the name for the awards is also under discussion. Like I said - this is all brand new!

Note - it was asked on rM if this was "only for rM" and no... it's not. It will be inclusive to any artists anywhere whether members or not. Which is one reason I hesitate to call it Relaxed Machinery Awards - but I'm still leaning towards that name. The rM community has successfully been separated from rM the label in it's welcoming of non-rM label discussions and members - so I think it's ok.

Nominations are open through the end of the year... this is wide open to anyone - you do not need to be a member of Relaxed Machinery to nominate and vote, etc...

I absolutely love this idea! You are the man for putting this on. Going to have to think long and hard about my answers...who will I choose? Impossible! :dunno:

This is nominations - so choose as many as you want. I'll select a shorter list from all the most nominations and then we'll vote. I'm planning on there being multiple winners (like 5 in the major categories) - so we get a wider range of winners. Great thing about this is it's community generated. Most of the ideas came from the community and not from me - I'm just making it happen.
