Looking for contacts in the midwest

Hello...

I lurk hear a lot and post seldom, but I am hoping the community might be able to help me out.

I have spent about the last year putting together a live ambient/noise performance rig and now, well...I'd like to take it out of the house.

I am looking for contacts with people in cities within reasonable driving distance of Chicago who may be interested in booking a performance. I'm not really looking to make money out of this..I am more looking to get the experience.

Any information you can give me is greatly appreciated.

What do you consider a reasonable driving distance?

I'm not exactly "connected", but I know someone in Indianapolis who might be able to help and I "know a guy who knows a guy" in Kansas City...

Oh, the dark sordid underworld of live ambient. You'll want a trench coat for the full effect.

FWIW, I do wear a trench coat (complete with fedora) when the weather is wet/cold. :o
