Record label offers on Soundcloud. Experiences?

I've published a dozen ambient tracks on Soundcloud in one month time now (written over the course of half a year) and since then I got "offers" from three different "record" labels (small independant ones). I'm very reluctant to answer those PM messages because I have my doubts about the trustworthiness of these kind of offers.

I suspect I'm not the only "average" user on Soundcloud who gets these offers ("average" because I don't consider myself a particularly good ambient artist).

So: what are your experiences with this and what is your advice? Any information is welcome. Thanks!

I had a couple of offers within 4 months of joining SoundCloud. They were both genuine, and I accepted one of them. These days I tend to release stuff myself on Bandcamp (when I have time). I guess it really depends upon the label. If you were to name the labels, some of the guys/gals here might be able to offer some personal experience.
