  • CALL FOR MEMBER ART! (AO Comp 2017: Included PDF)

As you know we're expanding our AO Comp series into 3 parts this year. We're also going to include a PDF with each release.

For the pdf, what I wanted to do was open it up as a space for member art like we used to with the cover contest designs. Over the next 3 months I will be accepting submissions for visual artistic works and will include them in the accompanying pdf.

Anything goes gentlemen! Cover art, fractal art, PHOTOGRAPHY, space age collage...anything you can think of. Go crazy!! We will properly credit all artists for their work. You can even include a link to your music and we will be sure and link it.

AO 2017 Parts 1, 2, and 3 are going to be a great year of good music and positive vibes. Let's keep it going!

TO SUBMIT YOUR DESIGN: Post it in this thread! You can also send me download links via PM.

    Cheers,
    -S1gns

Here is a piece I made in UltraFractal in 2003.
It's called 'Cellular Dynamics'. You can use it however you like.

Hmmm... I could probably spam this topic with a pile of stuff... I will try to desist...

Here's one I created yesterday. Totally from scratch, using Chaotica:-

This is a link to the full size PNG file:-

And this is the original PNG file that I created as a high res desk top background:-

And this is the .chaos file:-

I don't know how to make fractals, so not sure if these are of any interest- plain old photography. Happy to post more if something like this would fit the style you're after.

That is an awesome image, Andy. I notice that Chaotica is also mac commutable, so I may have to get a copy.

Absolutely yes on the photographs! I'm going to include any photos you feel would add to the pdf in the original post.

              Bravo!

                Thanks Tony and Graham

There may be better fractal programs out there but the main reason I have spent so much time with Chaotica is it's excellent animation capabilities.

                @Chris

Judging by your last reply I am guessing that you would prefer photographs. I must admit that fractal images are even more common than ambient beards. This may inspire me to dust off my rather expensive and much under-used DSLR to see what I can come up with

Whatever inspires you! I loved that fractal piece, but if you have photos too that you'd like to add, bring it on! This is a member art showcase simply for the sole purpose of sharing and personal enjoyment.

And hey...maybe if someone else likes your art they might ask you for more in the future? It could happen!

                  Cheers,

Here's one from me. Also a Chaotica fractal. I'm having trouble uploading a decent version. I think there's a better one here, but apparently the file is too big :uh:

Yeah, chaotica can just churn out amazing image after amazing image with just
a few mouse clicks. There is a free trial version I believe, so anyone who needs
cool graphics may want to give it a try.

Here's a couple of interesting Chaotica spirals.
I am also attaching one done in Mandelbulber that might be good for an ambient space music section or whatever.
If these are of any use and you want a specific size or resolution, just PM me.

You can make nice fractal flames in Gimp, which is free free free. Here's one I made earlier.

Yeah I used Gimp for mine as well, though not the flame script. I highly recommend the GMIC plug-in too.

I use gimp for much of my post processing. I didn't know you could create flame fractals with it...
