I'm still discovering the world of ambient music.

Are there some good free (legal, of course) downloads on souldcloud or bandcamp? Preferably lossless.

Oh most definitely!!! My current favorite is an artist I found on SoundCloud named Massergy. His music is amazing and he claims all of his tracks are recorded outside in Texas on clear nights! It's amazing. Check it out!!!

I really like a the Ian Boddy/Markus Reuter albums in the DiN label. If you get the chance, you should really check out Pure. That is a really beautiful album.

I've got that album too - I agree. There are a couple of albums Ian Boddy made with Robert Rich on this label which are also excellent

One of my very favourite artists (ever!) is 36, I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned already. 90% of 36's work is available for free on the bandcamp page: http://3six.bandcamp.com/ - everything 36 has put out is gold. Hypersona and Hollow are probably my favourites, though. Happy listening!
