The AO Compilation Album

Hey All.
I know that we are all pretty much busy with our own projects but i was thinking about starting a group on Soundcloud for ambient producers to collaborate and see what we get, maybe we could release a various artists type album and donate any proceeds to the site here? Anyways, drop your thoughts below

I brought this up to Dax IX a long time ago actually! She's pretty busy right now so if there's anyone who is going to spearhead the whole operation, I suppose it would be me. I'd actually be really into the idea since an "ambient online compilation" album was something I've thought of ever since we started fund raising last year. :thumbsup:

I'd like it to be all original music, created specifically for the compilation. Collabs will be welcome as well as individual tracks. We can also use my dropbox for submission, just like the podcast.

Here is the catalyst and this is the call to members. Let's make this happen. Mikkah76, thank you for this thread and getting the ball rolling.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we've had a good jumpstart to the project and had some very enthusiastic members step up and offer to participate! This is always a good s1gn.

Including myself, the number of members we have committed is 4.

To everyone else, we're just getting started. Let's make this a double album if we can! Check out my last post for details.

This sounds like it could be an amazing project. I wish I had the time to add to it myself, but we're setting up a few businesses and my time is EXTREMELY limited (which is also why I haven't been around much, sorry. :( ).

S1gns pointed this thread out to me.

And yes, he brought this up a long time ago. I didn't jump on it because I'm a little embarrassed to take people's hard-earned money, even if it will benefit this site.

We'll set up a new Bandcamp site for this and future group projects for the benefit of AO (and maybe more in the future. Perhaps we can come up with a charity to give to once I'm making money and server costs aren't an issue. I'm partial to animal and nature charities, what about you?).

Thank you all. It may not seem like it lately, but AO means a lot to me, and the community we've all built has a very special place in my heart. Our members are what make this place so meaningful to me.
