They are pretty well known and work with all the major streaming platforms. A big plus is if you ever decide to do a physical CD release, they can distribute that for you as well. (My job also owns Disc Makers - solid reputation who does CDs and Vinyl. Too bad I'm more interested in releasing cassettes these days.)
    Thanks for the heads-up.

I just do the standard Bandcamp/Soundcloud thing. My fanbase grows with every year; or maybe every other year--I think I'm up to 5 fans and a well-wisher.

Although I've never actually had any physical CDs manufactured from Disc Makers, I have toyed with the idea and did play around with setting a project up there but never hit 'purchase'. It was really simple to set up exactly what I would have wanted.

But I'm supposed to be famous some 300 years after I'm dead, so it'll probably expand to other platforms eventually.

You mean when they find your stuff in a thumb drive buried in the dust of a burned out building after the Apocalypse? Ha ha, I had the same dream...

I don't know if anybody else here has any experience with this kind of service?
Pros: it's easy and relatively cheap. And I can stream my own music in the car.

Cons: they do not have full control over what the streaming services want, so you get the lowest common denominator of wrongness in things like category selections, etc. As in: forget trying to tag your music as "ambient."

They also have no control over whether submitted music ever actually appears on Pandora -- after a year none of my music has. Presumably because they can't easily categorize it with their system.

Also, without any promotional effort I've earned a total of $2.38 from DistroKid so far -- from four albums (the fifth is too recent to count). More than half of that comes from Google Play Music, which is the service I use so it's probably mostly me.

Bandcamp works much better for me, although without promotion it's still not significant income.

                5 fans.... and a well wisher !
Now that is the stuff dreams are made of.

I’m the same as aoVI, Soundcloud and Bandcamp are as far as it goes.
Please feel free to have a listen to what I'm up to on Soundcloud
