One of the downsides of learning English is losing the virginity of “Uranus”.

Maybe you need to shift your focus away from Uranus. Think about the rings around Uranus for a change.

Just finished my submission! I was imagining being pulled to the frozen surface of the planet, whose gravitational pull is 10 times that of earth's. Given the weather of the planet, it would eventually result in being buried under drifts of ammonia ice.

If I get the time and inspiration I'll try to get something in by Friday. I do have an idea for a track, just been waylaid by the usual work/family stuff and setting up a new laptop (which I'm using as an opportunity to hack back the jungle of mostly unused VSTs that have swamped my old system...).

Hi S1gns and Uranus ambient creators,

Just transferred my first contribution to the Ambient Online Themed Compilation 03: "Uranus" \0/

SONICrider - The Moment That Last Forever

A sonic impression of a flight towards Uranus.

The arrangement is a 6 layered composition:
Layer 1 = a granular soundscape based on field recordings spring 2018 at al lake where thousands of birds search for a partner to reproduce themselves (representing the loads of energy Uranus holds).
Layer 2 = a wave form (sort of horn) to add some emotion (based on the intensity of the birds from layer one).
Layer 3 = a wave form coloured as drops falling in to a lake in a cave (a constant dripping where the heat of Uranus melts the ice).
Layer 4 = a ghostly sound that gets all attention when calling (based on the intensity of the birds from layer one)..
Layer 5 = a low sort of industrial ever lasting sequence (could be the heart of Uranus).
Layer 6 = all kinds of sound playing DIY instruments via Koma Fieldkits (iron objects hitting a string, noise VCO played through a pitch shifter, feedback and distorted radio signals).

The six layers are melt together using UAD Lexicon 224 & EP-34 tape echo, pre-mastered with Softube Console 1 (SSL 4000 emulation).

Pre-master (low cut at 24 Hz) gain curve is ment te be so the ghost and horn sound have maximal impact, while mastering these peaks should be treaded carefully to maintain the idea behind the arrangement.

It was a fun flight creating "The Moment That Last Forever".

Recorded on 2 and 3 march 2019 by SONICrider (Jurgen Winkel) at the SONICriderStudio, The Netherlands. Accept the field recording: april 2018 "Catier Heide" The Netherlands.

                            Play time: 7:34

Looking forward to all "Uranus" ambient tracks. Cheers, Jurgen.

@ S1gns (1), can you reply 'ok" so I know you read the comment about pre-master/mastering, thanks a lot.
@ S1gns (2), do you need any info about SONICrider or...... Just let me know. Thanks again. Good luck mastering all the pieces and looking forward the listen to them all.
