The finish on that guitar looks like the sound I'd want coming out of it.

That is a really awesome instrument. Let us know when you get it in your hands!

That looks gorgeous - can't find an 'envy' emoticon so this'll have to do:

        Just, wow.

Particularly like the small, tele-style headstock, nice touch.

I've a prominent chip on my cheap, JM copy; often wondered what's actually underneath the paint if I rubbed it down... probably made of plywood banana crates or something with awful grain...
Latest release: never to be repeated

SAnd it down and see; worse case--you have to paint it again. This time hot pink!

this is the most i have ever paid for a guitar!!! i have a squier Jazzmaster built in Indonesia that i swapped out pick ups for hand wound "dark stars" from The Creamery in manchester after i shielded the pick guard and the body cavity and did a good set up on it its been a great guitar!!!! i also have a jaguar from indonesia that i haven't modded yet i have always preferred the jazzy but figured id get jag i haven't gotten used to the short scale. but i am going to keep modding the jazzy with a prewired electronics with a few mods from Rothenstien guitars

                jm_s15_500.jpg

with upgraded electronics and the pick ups from the creamery the cheap jazzy will be as good or better then fender custom shop stuff IMHO. the necks not bad with a good set up she should be a nice player once i have finished her. my main guitar is a fender blacktop jazz master with a few mods its not bad either with a proper set up and a little love she's been great!!

                    Really?

I do like the more muted colours in Fenders range, salmon pink and sonic blue for instance but think anything too hot would distract me (make me churn out motley crue riffs etc )

I think may favourite JM finish may actually be the Elvis Costello one, a dark natural (walnut?) with the deeper red pickguard. If I do get another guitar (probably a squier JM, maybe the Jay Mascis one if any around) then I'd definitely take the sander to my current one and see what I could come up with.

you're right i was adding to the humor. i always love the wood grains all my fenders except the squire jazz and jag are the three tone sunburst and my Geddy lee signature "j" bass it only came in black :frown: but it sounds and plays great!! if i didn't get the custom build i would have got the Thurston Moore jazz, but contrary to what most think i like the rhythm circuit and that is why i held off on the Thurston signature.. i plan on picking my new addition up tomorrow can't wait. did a colab with pipe wrench for the comp i wish i could have used it but i wanted to get things moving on what he had already sent me so i went to work with my modded squire

That's a nice guitar man, I had a look through the Pilar site and the shipwrecked stuff is really nice. Even the bare wood tele clone is lovely looking

That is gorgeous. The guitar, the music, the pedals, the amps, you name it.

Wipe that silly grin off yer face!
