    I know that feeling

    • I think I must have around ninety minutes worth of stuff on the old HD now that needs finishing off, so I think I'm going to stop creating new stuff and get on with that task...

            • The missus went out on Saturday, so I took the opportunity to remix "LV-426". I had some problems accessing some old StereoizerV3 presets when I re-opened the project, so ended up manually recreating the settings. I think that worked out ok.

              • Working on two albums, both close to completion now; my first colaborative project with Aperus/Brian McWilliams, our project name is Oxia Palace, album titled "Kalendis" and my first Super Fata full length album in quite some time "Ordovician". Both set for release early next year.

                • Been looking into the Dolby Atmos plugin and renderer. Interesting stuff. Not convinced about the binaural headphone mode for mixing though. Definitely not spending the money buying the 9 extra monitors and their interfaces needed to mix Atmos natively in my studio ( 7.1.4 setup ) That's for sure.

Also currently installing Big Sur on a separate hard drive from my normal Mac OS though so I can try Dolby Atmos in the latest version of Logic Pro to see if better Atmos headphone mixes can be achieved there. ( thank you Apple for the complete lack of backward compatibility. Ugghh. )

Wondering if Atmos will just be another fad though to be honest.

                  • It looks like my next album may not be released until December. Lots of things going on here at the moment, and I haven't had any time to focus on that.

I have been making progress with the new DAW. My track on the latest AO compilation was made in MuLab, and I have just remixed it, adding some more reverb to the Rhodes pianos, and changing the Supermassive modes for a couple of instruments to add some pre-delay. I rebuilt the project, to use a parallel-routing structure, so that I could accurately control the instrument volumes during transitions between wet and dry Racks in MuLab. I'll try to post the new version here tomorrow.

Next up on the remix schedule is "Fools Rush In"

                    • Just acquired Arturia Pigments and installed it on the laptop last night. It’s a nice interface and has a lot of parameters, but danged if the thing isn’t a CPU hog. Like most of these newer synth apps. I note that Vital seems to be a bit CPU hungry as well. Maybe it’s time to get a more powerful laptop.

A week later this little peace was finished - not 100% ambient. It still needs some EQing and mixing but it has a total length of 4:20 ;)

Both of them are pretty good. I'd still categorise it as ambient. Ambient being sort of a broad genre. I checked it out on sound cloud gave it a repost. Keep going with it

                            • Working an two different EPs
                              1) Four Chords - which will contain the same chord progression in differnt styles (i guess that's really uninteresting for this place)
                              2) the "unmusik" series where the first track has been just finished last night.
The inspiration for this came by a video from Hainbach (i guess everybody in here knows that guy, if not check him out on youtube - he's awesome making music on old test equipment from the 50s,60s and so on)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfr8q6wXqww - in that one he describes how the far right in Germany is fighting electronic music and how he dealt with it. It's a great installation.

So as the neo-fascists rise again (especially in that region where I live) it's time for more controversial music which is unpleasant to Nazi-ears ;) - in the 30s of last century they surely would have described this as "entartete Kunst"

                              So here's my first part:

Visuals done with milkdrop, Videoediting with ShotCut and the music of course with Reason10.
                              Hope You enjoy it!

                              • Long live the entartete Kunst, but this is a pleasant track, not really controversial. Good job, nice sound.
