  • A blog about my current workflow

Really getting into the Numerology 4 Pro Beta - so good for improvising with soft or hardware. Here is my latest blog talking a little bit about the workflow.

You and me both! Awesome to see you blog about it...and the accompanying video! Very nice. Your launchpad looks like my launchpad...with stickers and all! LOL.

    Numerology for the win!

you're both tempting me to treat myself to a launchpad mini or s -_-

Aside from Numerology/Live, with my Oplab I could use it as a pad controller for my hardware, too.

Do it! It's a world of fun. Have you seen someone using the Launchpad with the Oplab?

No, but Novation claims the S and Mini are Class Compliant, so the Oplab's USB Host ports should work to send MIDI to my hardware if I wanted. It'd just be a pad/grid controller I'm sure, but useable. No velocity on either makes me sad, though.
          Meh.

Does Oplab allow you to translate the MIDI? Because the output from the Launchpad without special drivers appears to be Note on/off values.

That's about all I expected to be able to use for hardware, just a basic thing. All the Oplab does is shuttle MIDI back and forth between:

              1) Two USB ports (which act as Host for class compliant devices)
              2)MIDI In/Out(or Thru)
              3)DIN Sync24
              4)CV/Gate In/Out
5)USB Device port, allowing it to work as a MIDI interface for a computer.

So it wouldn't be as great as using a Launchpad with Numerology or Live. Just something to bang out stuff on occasionally, an addition to the DAW workflow.

Now I just have to decide, Mini or S. I like the size of the mini, though the S is hardly 'huge'. May have to check locally and compare.
              Meh.

I've been so busy it's taken a couple of weeks to get back here. Have you guys checked out the latest Numerology? It runs in Logic X as a plugin now (not sure if it will work the same way in other DAWs.) I had it running with the auto-evolve function through the default electric piano instrument and Valhalla Übermod dual performer preset and VVV beta with the Smooth Random reverb and it was like... .
