I've been messing around with HitFilm 2017 when I get time. My most recent and most ambient video is "Agreement Governing the Activities of States on the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies."

I still just have the free version of HitlFilm but I'm loving this software.

I wonder, does anyone use programs that automatically synch up the visualizations they produce with the rhythms or pitches in audio? I see that HitFilm has a "sound pack", does anyone have examples of videos you've made with that, or other software where you've let the computer do a chunk of the work (he asks lazily)?
I'm not aware of any, I just synch the finished mastered track up to the visualization audio by sight manually, and remove the visualization audio track... seems to work pretty well that way..

Pretty awesome track, by the way!.. Great experimental stuff!

Waiting for that piece of software. I remember the old winamp audio player. It had a visualization tool that seemed to play back in sync with the music. So it must be possible.

It's still available. The visualisation is called MilkDrop.

Yes, I've used that a lot in my video creations.

Cool. Now how do I get it to work in a program like VEGAS Pro?

You need to use a screen capture program while using the MilkDrop vis, or as I've sometimes done, point a video cam at your monitor and capture it that way, then import the video into Vegas.. BTW, it's not Vegas Pro anymore, Magix bought it from Sony, so now it's just called Vegas (unless you're planning on using an old version).

                • This is Isotonik (M4L reactive visualizations) produced within Live.
On a Mac - I record the video stream and audio stream, using Soundflower, through Syphon Recorder and then export.

This is my first video test, iteration 1 was just the music.
There were a few mixing glitches not purposeful, but that is what iterations are for.
Resolution is way down (720X480) as I have an older Macbook and it can only handle so much happening at the same time.

                      • I have used milkdrop for the visualizations in this months mix show. Lots of potential with this tool. Must learn how to make my own presets but am happy there are so many presets available

Your gonna have to explain the after effects process...
