I've just been watching it on my 55" telly and it has me mesmerised...
What is really impressing me is the quality of the video. Because I am using the free version of Chaotica I am limited to 30 seconds of 480p video. I then drag my 853 x 480 images into Windows Movie Maker in order to turn them into a video (I've not sussed out how to do the same in Sony Movie Studio yet), which is rendered to a 1280 x 720 x 30fps MP4 file. For the video posted above, I had to create 12 separate videos, which I then dragged into Sony Movie Studio. Some of them didn't run smoothly from one to the next, even though I thought I had that covered, so I ended up overlapping each one (SMS automatically crossfades them) by 5~6 seconds to get a smoother transition.
Sounds like a bit of a ball ache, but, to be honest, the hardest part was creating the animation inside Chaotica. The processes once I have the rendered images are quite straight forward.
cheers

Hi Mate,
I'm having a ball with Chaotica at the moment... So much is gelling with me, with respect to the animation side in particular.
Have you bothered installing it?
If so, and if you are interested, I'd like to share what I am currently discovering/learning.
And I don't think I should do it in this topic, as I want this to remain specific to video creation in general (I've used specific and general in the same sentence there, but I think you know what I mean).
I know I could share my findings via PM, but it may be of benefit to others who may be tempted to give Chaotica a bash.
Let me know what you think
cheers

Hi andy
I've just installed it. Yep, I'm very interested in exploring it and sharing ideas/discoveries. I guess how we do that depends on how interested others are.
One slight caveat; I dunno if I can keep up with your pace - I have some limits on the amount of time I can invest on these things....Comment

I'll start a Chaotica topic in the off topic area, seeing is it is so far removed from music.
If only me and you post stuff there, then is doesn't really matter.
There is a Chaotica official forum but it said it couldn't send me a confirmation e-mail. That would have been ideal, because we could have bounced ideas off other, more experienced peeps.
I was chatting to Thomas Ludwig, the Choatica developer the other day. Nice chap. He added me to the Chaotica facebook group. Trouble with that place is, the main focus appears to be, "look at my artwork." Not much tech chat, if any. So I'm not going to bother with that place much.
anyway... off to create a new topic...>]:| ~ > Bandcamp < ~ |:| ~ > SoundCloud < ~ |:| ~ > YouTube < ~ |:[<Comment

My contribution
> Ingredients: Simple ambient patch (delay and reverb)
Record with Audacity. Normalize the sound.
> Film Sequences: Send aout a kid with a sheap action camera.
Order take 8 15s filmsequences. The result will depend on the age of the kid.
> Merge film and music in Microsoft MovieMaker. If suitable.
let the original filmsequences sound be a part of the film.
> Add fitting filter effect.
