  • Yeah, I agree that, for some fractal types, Stopping SL =10 is pretty much a requirement. I left something rendering over night earlier in the week, at SL8, only 3600 frames, and when I checked it out in the morning I ended up deleting it.

Nice music and vid by the way :D

Thanks Synkro. That's a bummer on having to scrap the video.
Chaotica seems to have almost endless possibilities. A real gem of a program.

          • Here's another attempt at a Chaotica animation, although this one is maybe not all that different from my previous one.
This one tends to mess up when playing it on youtube on my laptop, but I guess that might be because my laptop has kind of
            a slow processor.
Chaotica rendering quality settings are the same as before:
            AA Level = 1
            Stopping SL = 10

            • Nice work. Must've taken a while to render at SL10, I imagine. Is the animation at 30 fps in the video software?

Thanks. Yes, I forgot to mention that I am rendering all the Chaotica videos at 30 fps.
I think this video took about 3 or 4 days to render, not rendering continuosly.
I leave it rendering when I am not using my laptop for other CPU demanding tasks.

                  • Question to you – fractal and ”space visuals” lovers
Have you tried (or just read about) https://gold.electricsheep.org/?

                    • Scott Draves is the founder of Electric Sheep and also the brains behind flame fractals. As far as I understand it anyway.

                      Looks interesting... thanks

                      • Found this video plus music on youtube.

                        Space music (by Stellardrone)... nice...
What caught my attention was the video.
And there was a link in the text to this electricsheep.org
                        Questions.
Is there a possibility to save a video?
Or is the video made by capturing the screen?

                        It’s like the SETI@home thing.

                        • I haven't tried it, but if you install the client software it looks like all electricsheep client
computers may be used to help render new animations when your computer goes into sleep mode,
although it is stated that most client computers usually are not assisting in rendering. It seems there
is a way to save animations to a video file format, but I don't know how it works.

It looks like you may be able to download .avi animation videos from their archive server here:

If you use any of their images or animations you need to include attributions:
Electric Sheep is a collaborative abstract artwork run by thousands of people all over the world. When their computers 'sleep', the Electric Sheep comes on and the computers communicate with each other by the internet to share the work of creating morphing abstract animations known as 'sheep'. Anyone watching one of these computers may vote for their favorite animations using the keyboard, which drives a genetic algorithm. Hence the flock evolves to please its global audience. The Electric Sheep are a free and open source service. The HD Gold Sheep have just been released!

It says if you design your own sheep you don't need to include an attribution, but I don't
know how a person does that. When I read about this a month or two ago I didn't find
any info that explained how someone can make their own animations, but it may well
                          be explained somewhere.

Ha ha, yeah, I find Chaotica quite easy to use to create animations, and I don't
need to worry about attributions and sharing my computer as a client in a Borg hive.
