    Self Quarantined Multi Sample Dare Challenge

    Something to play with while waiting for official challenges to restart. I made an account with some old challenges.

    Just pick samples and post when done.
    Please note the original sample(s) chosen.
    Use any or all of the samples in the link below. And no other samples.
    Avoid using plugins that add self oscillating resonance as doesn't originate in the sample.
    It would be cool to add a description

    No competition.
    No time limit.
    No pressure

    Just for fun .... http://soundcloud.com/ao_onesampledare

    Edit: change to any or all of the samples

      Well, I'm not sure I completely adhered to the conditions - I suspect my prolific and undisciplined use of plugins etc may have introduced extraneous noises, but I have no idea (as with most things!)

      I used all the samples, created a source track and then attacked it with The Mangle demo and ambient v.3, and then fused all the results. Ah well...

            i meant to make something with these as well, but the lack of a deadline just lets me push it forward indefinitely

            also not helped by work starting again here, and me being totally not fit anymore after three months of isolation... anyway, i'm ramping up to the drone day coming saturday, so maybe after that i can switch to this project.

              All samples taken from MorningBrew.wav
              Picked some chunks, loaded them into NI Kontakt, looped and sped up or slowed down by 2 or 4 times in DFD mode. i.e. the pitch was also changed accordingly.
              I deliberately took chunks of varied lenghts so everything was out of sync. To make them work together I added some effects synchronized with the project's tempo to the effect chains. And in some cases I ran the audio through a Korg MS-20 plugin (all oscillators off, filter peaks at zero) for the sole purpose of using its VCA & envelopes.
              The FX chains were as follows (all VST).
              1) Loop 1 (4 times slower / 2 octaves lower) -> Cassette -> Bass amp -> Flood tunnel IR -> Compressor -> Console -> EQ
              2) Loop 2 (4 times slower / 2 octaves lower) -> Cassette -> Fuzz -> Hoover tube IR -> H910 Harmonizer -> Console -> Compressor -> EQ
              3) Loop 3 (4 times faster / 2 octaves higher) -> Cassette -> MS-20 -> Console -> Spring reverb IR
              4) Loop 4 (4 times faster / 2 octaves higher) -> Cassette -> MS-20 -> Mu-Tron (filter peak at 0) -> Space Echo -> Console -> Spring reverb IR
              5) Loop 5 (original pitch / speed) -> Cassette -> Ring Modulator -> BBD echo -> Console
              6) Loop 6 (recorded several cycles of Loop 1 with all FX on, then loaded it into Kontakt and made it an octave higher) -> Cassette -> Tremolo -> Mu-Tron (filter peak at 0) -> Spring reverb IR -> Console
              7) Loop 7 (recorded several cycles of Loop 2 with all FX on, then loaded it into Kontakt and made it an octave lower) -> Cassette -> Fuzz -> Grand Piano reverb IR -> Console
              + Everything sent into a Plate reverb IR + more EQ & compression where needed.
