All constructed from a one-second snippet cut from the centre of the original sample, where I liked the tone. First I added loads of reverb until I was happy with the depth, then I chopped, copied, pitch-shifted and arranged this sample into a melodic pattern. This I exported, then used the resulting WAV as several layers which were variously reverbed, pitch-shifted again, delayed and/or distorted. I also used the equaliser to isolate some nice echoing crackles from the reverbed layer and added them in for texture. :biggrin:

I mixed things up this time and did the whole piece on my iPad.
- Editing and mixdown were done in Auria.
- Track 1 - (bleeping sound) ran the sample through iPulsaret. Some reverb and filtering applied.
- Track 2 - (solar winds - for lack of a better description) ran the sample through iPulsaret. Applied some reverb and FabFilter automation.
- Track 3 - (psuedo bong sounds) ran the sample through iDensity. Applied some delayed reverb and FabFliter automation.
- Track 4 - (high ringing sound) ran track 3 through iDensity. Applied some reverb.
- Track 5 - (low machine sound) ran track 4 through iDensity. Reverb and filters applied.

Details:

Track 1:

• Extracted 6 s segment near start of sample (@2.0 s to 8.0 s) in Audacity.
• Paulstretch x2; copied & reversed; joined together back-to-back.
• Used resulting wav as input to Reaktor Grainstates ensemble.
• Added Fx - Blue Cat Stereo Gain; Smartelectronics Ambience; ReaEq.
• Added Fade In/Out in Reaper.

Track 2:

• Extracted 1 s segment (@0.30 s)in Audacity.
• Paulstretch x25 + copy/paste to extend to ~3 minutes length.
• Copied into new Audacity track & reversed.
• Exported as wav, pasted into Reaper Track #2.
• Added Fx - InearDisplay Eurydice, ReaEq.
• Added Volume & Pan automations in Reaper.

Track 3:

• Ran complete original sample through Audiobulb Ambient (fitting, I thought…).
• Pasted into Reaper Track #3 and added u-he MFM2. Added Fade In/Out.

Track 4:

• Extracted 16 s segment (18.0s to 31.0 s) in Audacity.
• Applied 'Change Speed' effect in Audacity Sped up 33-1/3 to 78 x3.
• Exported as wav & used as input sample for Grainstates.
• Added Fx- MFM2, ReaEq and added Fade In/Out.

Track 5:

• Extracted 1 s segment near start of sample.
• Applied Change Speed 33-1/3 to 78 x2 + Change Pitch -48 semitones.
• Exported wav to iPad app Sector.
• Created several rhythm loops in Sector. Exported loops to Reaper & arranged several as Track #5.

Track #6

• Created new Receive track in Reaper. Sent Tracks #1, #2, #3, & #4 to new receive track.
• Applied Fx - u-he Satin (loop delay).

Master:

• Applied Fx - Satin (Tape Buss Clean)

Some years ago I was standing out under the trees in my yard one VERY quiet summer's day when a butterfly flew by my head and I did actually hear the flapping of its wings. :daydream: Okay, carry on.
