  • an idea for a sample challenge

Hello. Last year, you may remember that I released an album called Symphony for prepared dryer, in which I ran an old dryer with various household objects and manipulated those sounds, much like what we've done in the one sample dare challenges. It wasn't until some months after this album was released that I found out about these challenges and started participating.
I got the idea of asking people in the group if they'd like to use the samples from the original project as source material for tracks and we can jointly create the deluxe edition of the album, reimagined by various artists. This would be released under creative commons and I'd like to release it on the petryglyph site where the original album is. Unlike the challenges, I wouldn't say that it's necessary to document how you arrive at your track but personally, I enjoy reading all those sorts of details, it's just something I probably wouldn't include all that info in the album release unless people wanted me to.
Anyway, it's just an idea that I had and if you'd like to have a go at working iwth one or more of the samples, let me know and I can either just send you the documentary that i created as a whole file or send you just the bits with the dryer samples themselves. Thank you for considering the idea and I may even take another go at the samples myself since i've learned a good bit from the challenges.

Cool idea. I'm certainly interested to participate if the deadline is a bit longer than the 16 days of the OSDs as I won't have as much time in the next months as I have now.

I'd love to have a go at it! However, I still can't really get working on anything new until sometime in November now. If that fits your timef rame for completing the project, please send me the goods!
      Cheers,
      W.

i don't have a specific deadline so I guess the project is pretty open ended because I've got releases scheduled for the rest of this year and then the mamoth Vega chronicales 24 volume installation series for at least the first half of 2016 so there's lots of time for people to participate if they'd like. with the permission of the moderator, I'd like to use this thread as a way to keep track of progress and the like but if you'd like to email me personally, you can use [email protected], an address that some of you already have. Thanks for your interest and I look forward to what this project will be like as time goes on.

Hi there. I know that I've sent some of you the samples to work with but I don't follow everyone on twitter and for those who I haven't sent the samples to here's the .zip file with the samples as well as the documentary for your entertainment in .flac format.
