Pretty simple piece, attributions for samples on the Soundcloud page. Track 1 was a stretch of a short sample of water. Track 2 was same sample with delay(probably pitch change too, I don't recall and not in habit of writing this stuff down) Track 3 was a cut of sample of piano with pitch change and delay. Track 4 was synth done in Protoplasm VST. Tracks 5 & 6 were samples a bit cut up but otherwise left intact, high pass filter on piano sample. Pocket Limiter and MHorse for the mix.

A little reminder that the closing date for this dare is midnight Thursday 24th. Sad to say that we only have one submission so far :(

I'd be happy to extend this challenge; I don't see much point having the voting over Christmas, probably better to extend it so if people do find the time over Christmas they can then create an entry. It's a good image and I had some ideas but just haven't had the time (Christmas and wife recovering from an op etc).

This was actually a track I'd made a couple of years ago; can't recall exactly what was involved except that it seems to be based on stretches and manipulations of something I recorded onto cassette back in the 90s.

Excellent, I'll make sure my entry is done by then. Probably best you give at least five days or so notice of the closing date.

                      Cheers.

                        Here is my take

                        Not Sure which one works.
Not sure how Tuonela embedded hos soundcloud track

But here is a snap shot of my process.

                        First thing I noticed on the image was the ripples;
So I laid down a Leslie processed piano to emulate the ripples in the sand.
Then to give the impression of being at the waterside I was going to add some gull samples, I found some license free examples online and listened to the I decided instead to mimic them, so I found a birdish mono synth patch and added some portamento worked out the intervals and voila seagulls.
Then I went to work creating some white noise waves, added some chorused hollow bell sounds to simulate the reflective ripples in the lower left corner, put some stuff in the middle for the sand (and animal tracks), added some washes and sweeps to be the sun and breeze.

All you need is the track number - 239382369 in this instance - inside the SoundCloud parameters in Advanced (SC2 and /SC2, I think...)

Use S2 /S2 tag delimiters for individual SoundCloud tracks

OK so S2 with square brackets around it ([]) then 239382369
and then /S2 also in square brackets([]) right after .
                              got it

                              thank you so much.
I'm sure this is basic for a lot of people but I am a bit of a luddite.
