  • Tago Bay

Hi folks. Here’s my most recent ambient/experimental track. It’s an impressionistic piece about Tago Bay, the famed viewpoint for viewing Mt. Fuji that figures so prominently in traditional Japanese artwork.

The track was composed using a mix of generative and manually played parts. The generative elements were created by programming multiple instances of the Reaktor NOD-E generative sequencer to drive various modular and semi-modular virtual synthesizers. These sequencers were then modulated by a series of Max for Live devices. The manually performed parts were played on an Ableton Push driving a Buchla Easel V. The water and birds were sampled; the remaining environmental sounds were created in Madrona Labs Aalto and Kaivo then fed through Valhalla DSP reverbs and delays.

Please listen with headphones if you can, and thanks for listening!

Finally managed to get around to listening to your latest, Alan. Sorry I'm late

I really enjoyed this one. The generative parts, yet again, don't come across as such. To me, anyway.

Nice and light... Lots of space, and is mixed and mastered to perfection

    cheers
