Hi, all. I have a special Ambient composition release out - it is special as I made it for the Full Crow Moon, St. Patty's Day, and my birthday rolled into one.
Enjoy!
This is really really good. I'm only 3 and a half minutes in and loving every second of this one. So textural yet the melodic elements cannot be understated.
Very rich, sweeping, and lush. I like the very infrequent ....percussive/fx(?) noises. And so beautiful as it blends and transitions from sharp, bright pads, to softer, mellower pads with less of a sharp edge.
Thank you! I appreciate each of your responses, and am honoured you enjoy the work.
The name Barrows.. this was a deeply ancestral work, since my motrhers's maiden name is O'brien, and some several years back, lost my Irish Grandpa to cancer. He was Catholic, and sang in the choir and had a kind of 'crooner' type voice. His house had angels and crosses everywhere. I'm not sure what he would think of the theme here, either. lol Well, then again..
The theme here was from a time in my imagining when the burial mounds were not considered a gross place, but sacred..as still often is today. At some point, I had recalled the 'Barrow Wights' even of Tolkien-craft. This sort of redeems the ideals of walking into a sacred sanctuary. Or, even in harmony with the ideas of the project name I use..AmoebiKathedral. That sort of a 'Church that Nature Is'. Good question! That wasn't the original reason that name came about, either. It just proved to be another dimension I considered a Gift in doing the work. :D Thanks again, all!
@ Windspace. Thank you! I developed a love for warping synth into choir, and it is hard to get more organic than the sound of the human voice! - if you put it with anything Great Outdoors, too.
haha! you will not be likely to hear any samples of children screaming, not even in my Halloween stuff, but some video game (especially vintage) sound sampling in something with a high bpm laid down would be fun. :D
