This is actually a recording of actual insects that you have modified? That is too awesome. Very interesting. Which bit is the guitar?

Almost...horror-like. A building up, tense, terrifying tonal quality to it.

Man these field recordings are inspiring me for my own. Opening my mind!!

Thanks for listening and commenting. Yeah this is a recording I made in New Zealand about 5 years ago - the insect sounds have only been slowed down (which shifts the pitch as well) so that there is the original recording, another slowed a little bit and another slowed a little bit more. Plus the water sounds which are natural. The guitar is the high pitched stuff right at the beginning and through most of it. Plus some more 'snap' sounds. The guitar is a nylon string classical prepared by attaching small split shot fishing sinkers onto the strings. That's an old recording as well. There's some reverb and delay on that - and multiple tracks.

              Yep, pretty scary.

Made me think of the movie "Phase IV", I guess the insects closing in...

              Nice work.

Definitely a product of the 70s (think scifi like Westworld, Demon Seed, Andromeda Strain etc), well worth a watch.

I think it was the only full length film Saul Bass directed.
