    Hi friends!

Jillian and I put together two new videos: Still and Krypta. These are two tracks from our Surfacing CD we decided to make videos for.

Still is beautifully floating; flute along the lines of the late Paul Horn in the Taj Mahal, or early man in a large cave with a crafted bone flute. The video is a little lo-res but I kept it because of retro-texture and a bit reminiscent of 1940s film noir.

Krypta almost didn't get released because it's more of a character piece evoking horror/suspense rather than sci-fi ambient. It's not relaxing but filled with sustained tension with a fitting conclusion. The still-life video Jillian shot and edited seem to fit the edginess and dressiness of it.

Some pieces write themselves and we're merely the custodian of sound.

We hope you enjoy them, as we truly enjoy the artists on this site and the talent I met at Ambicon.

I commend you both for finding the perfect way to illustrate the music using simple but effective evolving video effects!

Very well done and inspiring. Thank you for sharing!

    Cheers,

I just played Still. The music was a great way to start to the day, a way to relax before becoming involved in the "stuff" or life. Lots of paperwork today, I fear. The video accompaniment suited the mood of the music. I shall try to listen to Krypta later.

      Good work

Krypta was a very compelling listen. I'm glad I listened to this later in the day. I feel that these these darker pieces require more attention and focus from the listener and I'm finally starting to wake up at 23:30. Great ending.

          Thank you for the feedback!
Dark ambient does require the listener to focus because I feel it puts us on guard of perceived and pending danger or intolerable oppression.
How can I put this... I don't live in dark ambient. This piece just came out and I went with creepy because.... I have been in film scoring orchestras and when the dark, creepy scenes were being recorded we all got into it ("More blood! Kill! Kill! Yeah!) and had a laugh later at how wonderfully creepy it turned out. Can't take it seriously or it will come out pretentious and not read right.
The video could have only ended that one way; a black hole.
          On to brighter things...
I appreciate you listening and commenting.
