  • Turning the Corner

okay, here is a piece from this weekend. I haven't posted any music/musings online for a few years so this is a "get back on the horse" kind of thing. The MP3 compression brings out more mids much more than I am hearing in my DAW ... I may need to get back in there and fix that. Anyway, hope you like it.

No kidding right? What a way to get back in the game!!! Seriously impressed Tonecarver. Things really get good after about halfway through the track...there are some beautiful melodies in there.

Wonderful work!!! Keep it up! :tu:

Just what I was thinking, melodies almost buried but just prominent enough to catch your ear.

          Great work.

Most enjoyable listening. A very good piece, with lots of "space" in the mix. Good work.

Incidentally, it may not be your mp3 that is at fault. The SoundCloud transcoder may be responsible for some sonic artifacts. Even if you upload a wav file to SC, transcoding is performed on your track at upload time to produce the piece that will be heard in the streaming player (I think it's a 128Kbps mp3). Any download (if enabled) will still allow access to the originally uploaded file.

Thanks for the listens and the great encouragement. I've set a goal for myself to finish at least one track every week. I know that won't always happen but it gives me some incentive to actually take an idea all the way from inception to completion. Thanks!

Very nice work, an inspiration to explore a calmer, less dense approach. Great to see the guy responsible for some of my favorite recent plugins has come to AO- and makes great tracks to boot!
