  • New Track: The Old Barn and the Cricket [Brenham, Texas]

    Hi all,

Just finished a new track. Ambient as ambient can be. I kept it nice & quiet...
    Have an easy listening

Very nice! I like the sense of place and your sensitivity to the field recordings used, and the slow movement in the music. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys especially because after this track I can't seem to create anything new. I've been really struggling with a few drafts and getting almost sick of listening to them and being very disappointed and quite frustrated...

Well, we've all been there -haven't we?- and I'm sure eventually the muse will sing to me again :daydream:

A beautiful natural sounding track, really enjoyed this, thank you for sharing.
It all flows together and melds effortlessly.

I hope your inspiration returns soon. As you say, we have all been there and it is truly frustrating.

Not to sound too condescending but, why not take a break completely from these "drafts" and try to create a track that is completely different from your usual style, a change can be as good as a rest, or just take some time just listening to your favourite music and then try to recreate a particular passage or aspect of that music ! I often find that helps me.
          Any way I've run on a bit here haven't I ?!?

          Cheers
          James.
Please feel free to check out my music - thank you

Thanks James. I already took a break altogether and started / continue listening to tracks of others here and on Soundcloud. I have thought of creating something completely different but i think it's better to take a break; what works best for me is freshing up my ears and emptying my head.

              Hi Boqurant,

I've just listened to The Old Barn and The Cricket...

As I'm finding my way around this genre, I found that piece most inspirational and ideas are popping into my head as I type.

Oh, I enjoyed that piece, by the way

              cheers

                Hi Andy,

Nice to hear. Funny how a piece that temporarily is the end of a phase of inspiration for me is a source of inspiration to others. It was one of those pieces that felt very natural and easy to create. One nice flow so to speak but now I'm kind of stuck so I started cleaning up my house and in between I'm listening to others :listening:

Listened to you latest track a 2nd time right now and I really like it. It's indeed quite different form your previouw work (just placed a comment BTW).

                Have a nice ambient ride

                Cheers,
                Marcel

Hi Marcel, yeah... Spotted your comment and "like," so thanks for that

I'll be listening more to your SC page once I'm done listening to some more here...

                  cheers
