  • Back in the game with the Octatrack - Age of the End

Kind of makes me think of Kepler-452b in a way, if it's a dying world like they're starting to speculate. The Octatrack did the heavy lifting, and after recording it SynPlant came in for the assist to fill it out. Just a single Aether reverb to give the reverb and delay ambience, I like how this one turned out, it sounds like an alien jungle or something.

How come I hadn't discovered your work yet? Fabulous track! The right kind of dark, so to speak.

I wasn't familiar with the octatrack (I don't use hardware) so I wonder: are you using it because of the "in-sync elasticity" (if not: why not compose in a DAW right away?) and what samples do you feed it? You don't have to give away all your secrets but I'm just curious about your workflow.

            Hi Kris,

Just to say I'm currently enjoying listening to Age Of The End

I must check out Synplant... I first saw this when it was originally released but didn't try it... Perhaps now is the time...

            cheers
