Wow! Tar is great. It could easily fit alongside a Four Tet track in a club as much as on the ambient online podcast. I love the acoustic noise, and the kind of granular pad/riser about two thirds through. Nice work.

Thanks! Ive grown to be irritated by the percussion, last night i worked on it a bit more to make the percussion sit much more nicely in the mix. Did you have any thoughts on this when you listened?

I thought it sat really well. Not too pronounced, not too buried. With all of your sounds it kind of anchored the song.

have you listened since I've altered it? and if so, do you think it sounds better? (i altered the EQ and mix of the percussion to balance it more and added a subtle sub to the kick sample).
thanks for your help by the way i have very few people to offer opinions!

I listened to it again today and I thought it sounded really good. The sub on the kick sounds nice. Did you add a little side chain compression to have tHe kick come through? Also, glad to help!

No, i tried it and felt it took away some of the sophistication for whatever reason. Maybe because side chained kick and pads are often associated with more accessible music(?). With there being no bass in that pad anyway and with some EQ i could get the percussion to sit nicely around the pad with no SC comp required! I guess i also disliked the use of SC comp in this because i liked the percussion to sound delicate, whereas SC may have made the kick come through too much.

                Hi there.
Very nice, enjoyable track. Loved the texture of the sounds that you employed.
For what it's worth I think the percussion sits nicely in the mix, it doesn't overpower the track and neither does it subtract from the track, as bvsmv has mentioned it kind of anchors it.
Please feel free to check out my music - thank you
