Thank you! Yes, there are hundreds of alternate tunings out there ... I'm focussed on only one tuning for a couple of years and I'm still only scratching the surface. Having 4 or 5 additional notes per octave especially makes playing chords 10 times more complex.Originally posted by aoVI View PostComment

I know little of theory, even the simple stuff like chords. Not something I am proud of.
I have learned series or groupings of keys that sound as if they work together and those that feel darker, lighter, etc. Often I have wished for tones in between two; ie. this particular note is just a few hz too high, but the next note down is a few hz too low.
Micro tunings would be a real useful thing to know.

the real backdraw on microunings is that at the moment you have e.g. 17 or 24 notes per octave, you have to learn to play on a piano keyboard from start because no chord-combination you got in your fingers will work any more.Originally posted by aoVI View Post
