I just received my copy of WESTERN SKIES MOTEL "settlers" a friend and fellow ambient online member. the gate fold album cover is simply beautiful, inside and out. The layout was done by Ryan Keane http://losttribesound.comwho's photographs were taken from his families archives depicting times of settlement in Montana during the early 1900's. there is also a elegant quote from George Edward Woodberry- Always, some great culture is dying to enrich the soil of new harvests, some civilization is crumbling to rubbish to be the hill of a more beautiful city some race id spending itself that a lower and more barbarous world may inherent its stored treasure house
a fitting backdrop to the opening os "Settlers" the master skill of the classic guitar paying homage to the past through string vibration and fretted hand. Compositions are transcending blend of gorgeous acoustics as wells a subtle mix of ambient soundscape weaving images of sound into a complete enjoyment of listening pleasure. Along with the band camp site there is a equally beautiful video for the track "Whirl" there is a limited edition of the LP on vinyl my hand number edition is 49/170. don't miss out on this release!
