I listened to the first 3 tracks this morning...and the first thing that comes to mind is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!

Always impressed by your composition skills, this totally takes it over the top.

There is so much texture and mystery within each track...it's both mesmerizing and captivating.

        Bravo!!!

I took a listen to Mirage 1 and Mirage 5. The production is good, as are the arrangements. The mood on these are way too positive and uplifting for my tastes, almost New Age. That's not a reflection on you though, that's on me. But it certainly sounds good for what it is.

Way to positive and uplifting? Hmm. Perhaps the following is more negative and depressing. LOL!

Ah, yes, that is a bit darker than the previously mentioned tracks...I can get into that a bit more.

For me personally I do not compose "genres." I compose music. I actually can write any kind of music: classical, jazz, rock, soundscapes, pop, abstract, avante garde, dub techno, etc. But I do not think about it when I write it. There are just too many interesting motifs to be pigeonholed into one and my instinct is to go with what feels right at the moment. That is what comes natural to me. Music is a lot about mood and emotion as much as intellect. I use my intellect to get the notes right and my mood to set the stage. To that extent I run the risk of being eclectic if that is even a risk. To me it is a natural response to being alive.

For example, nothing could be more different than these two compositions:

                      http://soundcloud.com/bobbotov/mood-strikes

And yet they both represent how I felt at the time that I composed them.

You're preaching to the choir there...I can relate and agree. Hell, one of my former projects was sort of black metal/dark ambient/industrial/jazz...and all of this was blended simultaneously. It seemed natural to me as well, but then again my mind is "wired" a bit strangely it seems. Genres are merely semi-convenient labels to attempt describing things...but even so, they too fail me at times.

Again, I completely agree about mood and emotion. But its also why I can't get into positive music much, nor do I create it. I write, and am inspired by, what I feel and what I know. Dark, or negative and depressing, aren't "genres".

Just FYI, but Mirages will be released tomorrow, April 19, 2013 on Arecibo Records. Also, I added an additional track for seven total. It is called Desert Winds:

Congratulations Bob! Very excited for you.

I already know the album is going to be good but I simply cannot wait to get my hands on the mastered final version.

Again, great work. Cheers my friend.
