  • Travel Ban - Bedroom Cassette Masters Vol. Two

I'm thrilled to announce that today marks my first release as part of the compilation Bedroom Cassette Masters Volume Two.What is the compilation?

"Sounds like vintage electronica, looks like vintage electronica..."

A second compilation of synth & drum machine tracks (with the occasional vocal) most of which were recorded in bedrooms all over the world between 1980-89. Whilst some of them most definitely were not, all have been produced with the same DIY, lo-fi analogue spirit in mind.

My track is #27 Travel Ban by Transit Authority. You can listen to the full track here:

just listened to it! very cool! hypnotic and propulsive. I liked how the more percussive passages dropped in & out! P.S. what do you think of the Tall Dwarfs (not quite ambient or punk, but very much diy 80s)?

That's great, I'll have to check out the rest of the artists if your track is in anyway representative. I had a couple of compilations of stuff that sort of fitted this 'genre' (think I got them from the mutant sounds blog). Italian bands I seem to remember...

Love 'em. I had a video compilation years ago (twelve o'clock high?) that I bought for some of the more well known bands (flaming lips, pussy galore, dinosaur jr...) but the tall dwarfs track on there was my favourite (Turning brown and torn in two), turned me on to the whole NZ scene (xpressway tapes, dead c etc).
Latest release: never to be repeated

I listened to the album today and was impressed. A wide variety of vintage electronic music and thought it was great.
Volume One is a free download.
