Thanks for the info Mike. Now that I've got my Strat back into action I'm looking for sound processing ideas. I have Pod Farm, but I was thinking of using my Zoom G7 to produce the sounds with a little processing in the DAW. I was specifically thinking of Shimmer for one particular project.

    Kit list?
Thanks Tim. My first answer to kit list was going to be: minimal, but as I started looking back at the track properly I realized there was more going on than I remembered :dunno:
    So:
Guitar - I just used one electric for this track (an OLP John Petrucci model)
Amps/fx - all courtesy Line6's PodFarm 2. I used about 5 setups, all dual-amp (mostly the Supro emulation, a couple of Buddha emulations) with lots of different types of delays in series, and a few modulation fx in between the delays.

The recordings were completely improvised and the arrangement consisted of trimming the overall length by 3-4 minutes, adding in a few silences, and creating a few crossfades (the xfades helped to 'smear' the progressions even more)

During the mix, I used several more fx (RP-Delay, ValhallaRoom, Valhalla UberMod, and CamelSpace)

    Phew :nerd:

Unhurried yet never static; most wonderfully cloud-like indeed!

Nice guitar work! Sometimes it's amazing what you can do when you move away from the rock/blues/jazz based paradigms of guitar playing and use it in an entirely different way.

That's a heck of an idea, Matt. Don't know if it'd fit in the album sequence with a groove, but that's why we have remixes, ain't it? Also, the tribal groove thing is a bit of an unexplored territory for me - and they do say travel broadens the mind...Now, where's my pith helmet?
