  • Breathe [collaboration between John Gilmore and synkrotron]

    Hi Peeps,

I started this a while ago and I thought I'd better get my act together and make something of this.

John Gilmore, jazz/ambient pianist from Fort Bragg, California, provided a number of piano snippets for use in collaborations and derivative works.

I took four samples and created four separate pieces, each similar in terms of sound, and because of that I have called each piece Breathe Part One to Part Four:-

Also available as "name your price" from Bandcamp:-

      Thank you Ivan

I'm sure some may poo poo the idea of using Paul Stretch but I couldn't resist the temptation to use it on John's piano samples... Lovely sounds, which I then fattened up with the usual suite of effects.

      Cheers,

Totally agree, Ivan, but, going of the apparent lack of interest here I can only assume that the usual dislike Paul Stretch is strong

Awesome collab. Will get around to listening to the whole playlist soon but love what I've heard so far. Paulstretch + long decaying reverb = Winner

Beautiful music! And thankfully it doesn't sound much like piano. And I firmly believe that results count, not the tools used.

Thank you and, yes, I agree... Big fan of stretching and over use of reverb

                  Thanks for listening

Personally, I don't have an issue with piano in ambient music, as evidenced by the fact that I bought Harold Budd and Brian Eno's 'The Pearl' when it came out on vinyl, lo those many years ago in the 80's. Enjoyed listening to this track!
