  • Obscure Records

Ubuweb have all ten Obscure Records releases to listen to on their site:

    http://www.ubuweb.com/sound/obscure.html

This was a shortlived label run by Brian Eno in the 70s. As well as his Discrete Music LP there was also releases by people like Gavin Bryars, Michael Nyman, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Harold Budd etc. Some pretty famous records there but all well worth listen. Looks like you can download them as MP3s though whether that's the best format for these recordings is another matter...
Latest release: never to be repeated

Hee, just scanning through the http://www.ubuweb.com/sound page, enough quality sounds there to last a lifetime.

And, me being me, particularly noted the Portsmouth Sinfonia stuff is there. Hilarious and strangely... profound all at once. Everyone needs to hear 20 Classic Rock Classics at some point in there life. :D
