  • Ambient Music Websites/Blogs

So I've been on the hunt for some new dedicated ambient websites and blogs to review/feature my album. So far I've come up with a few notables but I thought it would be cool to compile a list so those of us who release new material will have a bunch of links all in one place.

I'll start...here's a good one (featuring a couple of our own members!) called Ambient Music Blog:

Connecting interested listeners worldwide to handcrafted & experimental ambient music.

I enjoy browsing through the Relaxed Machinery forum:

As a bonus right now, check out their main page for a free download from Steve Roach. Lots of links to other ambient artists work as well.
Only dead fish go with the flow.

I've seen that one!!! I was thinking about joining but you have to be a member to post there. However, my loyalties are here on ambient online and it would feel weird to try and stick my nose into another online community.

      But hey, why not, right?

      Cheers Ho66it!!!

        You have my blessing. ;)

Though that's something I'd like to accomplish here. I'd love to have more Ambient-related news, and perhaps even blogs, and certainly interviews (I know, I need to start things off with YOU! ).

LOL!!! I joined but haven't posted yet. But yeah you're right...we need to become the source for ambient on the internet...along with being more SEARCHABLE!!! Google "Ambient music" and we're not even in the top 10 pages. Or "Ambient music community" either. Only when searching for ambient online do we come up number one.

Maybe we should all include the words "awesome ambient music" in all of our posts. See where I'm going with this? :

I definitely recommend browsing through contents of The Ambient Collective:

The Ambient Collective was launched in November 2004 by Bluejooz. The idea was to create a small website with a forum where other ambient artists and producers could drop off messages to help advertise their releases whilst helping to promote others at the same time. As time went on it soon developed into something better with the introduction of "Collaboration" on the forums. This brought lots of different styles to the table and has created some truely amazing "collective" releases. They have progressed over the years into different styles but the main instrument is the same... ambient to the core.
