Maybe someone could open another thread to list podcasts? I would be interested in that, since I don't really like low bitrate streams.

      I made and try to maintain this list because you can't search out these shows. Podcast and net radio can be found easily enough by searching. Starstreams, Mixcloud for example. Starstreams is archived at Mixcloud also. 128kbs free streams here;
      https://www.mixcloud.com/starstreams/uploads/
I do have some archived show links to streams in my list.

I'm excited about a new addition to the over-air ambient radio list.
Given to me by member António Duarte, this weekly 2 hr show from Lisbon, Portugal covers melancholic ambient music styles with more voice and acoustic sound.
I love this stuff, and it is high on the 'give me ideas' inspiration curve.
You can catch the previous show streams as well. I highly recommend it. ;)

          "Vidro Azul" - SBSR-FM Portugal
          Sunday evening 6:00pm - 8:00pm (EST)

Repeat shows air Wednesdays 11:00pm - 1:00am (EST)

Not focused on ambient, particarlary not in the first hour, but lots of ambient in the second and third hour. Just hav a look at the past playlists.

NOTE: summer break in july/august. Will resume in september.

                    Hi betadelay,
Thanks for contributing. I would love to get more European ambient style shows in the list.
I looked at the site playlist each day from 21:00 - 24:00 but didn't see any evidence of this. https://www.radio-hannover.de/on-air/playlist
I see 'some' evidence looking the last hrs of two playlists at Facebook.
If I'm missing something set me straight, otherwise it is not consistent enough for the list.
                    EDIT - I see what's happening;
                    - "The 'border waves' (Grenzwellen) make a summer break in July and August! - The next show is on September 5., 2018"
I'll look into it more, and add the show to the list when it's back on.

Hey Annode, and everyone else, greetings from a fellow ambient fan!

Annode you are a selfless hero, thanks for maintaining this! I saw the related forum post on KVR, which I suspect is dead in favor of this forum-- is that quite right?

I have 3 requests for you, as a late arrival, and I'm sheepish to ask, but, you're already a generous fellow (perhaps flattery will get me somewhere...).

Anyway, can you do a post about the scheduling and configuration you mention for the application "Radio, Sure!" I suspect you've emailed that out a few times to the readers of the main post, so maybe you could edit one of your emails and post it here. The app seems OK, but it gets serious flags from my antivirus program. I have read a lot of the posts where they defend the signatures that appear in the application as an artifact of the encryption they use, but I am still cautious. Hearing more details about how you use it and seeing how to configure it would push me towards exploring it further, as asynchronous recording would obviously be a huge help in exploring your list.

Second and third-- last year's posts of the Robert Rich Sleep Concert (Philly 06.04.17) and Into the Deep would be fantastic for a re-up or a link if they're floating around somewhere. If you were cautioned about posting them, I understand.

Anyway, thanks for your contributions, I'm checking them out!

First I'll say, hello Felix! Happy to meet a new member with enthusiasm for exploring the live host ambient programs list!
Since I had started the list for my own use initially, I think that disqualifies me as being selfless...no closer to heaven then I was before, haha.
I'm very fortunate to get this sticky here at AO. Much better to have it visible in the midst of electronic music enthusiasts then have it floating around somewhere in the internet ether.

Your guess is correct, I have not updated the KvR list for some time now.
Now... Radio Sure. You are THEE first person to ask me about the act of recording a show. As you might have guessed, Radio Sure is a Russian product (also free version). I am running the most recent free version on Win7 with Firefox and have been for a long time with no funny business of any kind on this notebook. I also have it on another PC, also no funny business. I have no affiliation with the application. I run AVG antivirus on both systems and it has never noticed it.
Considering your antivirus scan experience, maybe other net radio apps can use the same or similar 'system command lines' as Radio Sure. (I'll get into that later on)

Hearing more details about how you use it and seeing how to configure it would push me towards exploring it further,
                        Since your the first to ask, I don't have a prepared instruction script. It's very easy and I will describe how to set it up. One question;
                        - are you on Windows and have you ever used the 'Task Scheduler'? Start /Administrative Tools /Task Scheduler

I can share the 'Rich Sleep Concert from Philly' and an 'Into The Deep' show with you. I'd like to test a free file sharing and storage service called 'MediaFire'.
I'll post this below link of Into The Deep as a test before I do the same for the Rich Sleep. Let me know how it goes. It is a safe experience. The only byproduct of it being free (I read) is adverts show on the dload page you see...no big deal I think. This show was very good.(great) I kept this 3 hr show. The stream is low bit stream mp3 from the college...shame.
                        http://www.mediafire.com/file/004cge...29.17great.mp3

PS: I recommend the radio sure skin called 'Purple Play'

Thank you, Annode, you are a gentleman and a scholar!

Thank you, first, for Into The Deep-- it worked wonderfully, and I believe Mediafire is a good choice for storage service. It's pleasant and not crazy with tons of baggage and risk items. It worked well and I am enjoying the file this very moment.

Also, I installed Radio Sure and a wide selection of skins. Purple Play is good, but I'm thinking that the larger size of the DX-210 skin might be better for me. Luckily, we don't really have to choose!

I am on Windows (Win 10) and yes, I have used the 'Task Scheduler;' please share the configuration ideas, I'm keeping up.

Just an aside: I think capture in "long form," rather than separate tracks, works just fine for most things; a long stream capture is like the Into The Deep file you sent. It's easier to move around, put on a portable or CD, and in a pinch you can use something like Shazam to identify a particular track. Most DJ sets or mixes or similar don't need radical cataloging, I'm finding in my advancing years... Curious if you feel the same. Years ago I was more obsessed with splitting and cataloging and tagging. Now, less so.

I'm formerly from Philly too, but live outside DC now; I was up there recently and XPN is still great. Just good people who put their heart into their work-- and it shows. I liked WKDU from Drexel as well. Chuck van Zyl and John Diliberta and their friends-- they give a lot of character to the scene, and they're giving their sweat and tears out of the joy of doing it. God bless 'em! And God bless Philadelphia, lotsa good people there and tons of support for music makers.

                          Cheers!

Thanks for letting me know your experience with MediaFire. I want to maybe use it at a sharing platform with an overseas member, so knowing it worked well in this side of the pond will tell me what's up if it doesn't work for him to receive.

Glad to hear it's running ok. The free version auto-updates and tells you in a balloon notification. Purple Play was my fave after I tried a few others.
You can't edit stations once they are added or previously in the data base.....but I found a work around. If you find this necessary, give me a shout and I'll describe it...it's easy to do.

Good, I'll have an opportunity to write that out later today.

Just an aside: I think capture in "long form," rather than separate tracks, works just fine for most things; a long stream capture is like the Into The Deep file you sent. It's easier to move around, put on a portable or CD, and in a pinch you can use something like Shazam to identify a particular track. I'll have to look into Shazam, that sounds handy!.I never did catalog separate tracks from these shows. Stars End is the only one who uses this sort of individual track streaming. There is a setting within Radio Sure to turn it on or off. Most DJ sets or mixes or similar don't need radical cataloging, I'm finding in my advancing years... Curious if you feel the same. Years ago I was more obsessed with splitting and cataloging and tagging. Now, less so.
How I audition shows is to add a recorded show to a list and listen to the show. When I stop the audition, i note the playback point time in the list...like this:
                            audition list.jpg

As you can see I'm well behind, but that's ok.
I'm formerly from Philly too, but live outside DC now; I was up there recently and XPN is still great. Just good people who put their heart into their work-- and it shows. God bless 'em! And God bless Philadelphia, lotsa good people there and tons of support for music makers.
If you were in Philly in your teens you remember 'Diaspar' that was the ticket! Then Star's End came along and was great! I hung at the station with a few DJ friends then and went mad recording rare albums in their library...not to mention sitting around in the old studio watching Chuck Van Zyl do his show! I used to bring in my 7-1/2in open reel, find a open studio and set up shop. haha. Now WPRB Princeton is the main station for the likes of artists and free spirits, open minds in general.
I lived in Northeast Philly....Washington High. Still here. haha BTW, had a German, little English speaking girlfriend who moved to DC and later married. Lisa Lotta (insert married name here)

                            Cheers!

I started the how to set up your task scheduler with radio sure instructions. You can find them just below the radio show list on page one.
There's more to this, but ran out of member allotted server space for the pix. I'll get back to it tomorrow.
