  • Greetings from the heart of North America's Polar Vortex

After years of admiring the work of Geir Jenssen, I feel like I've finally experienced a winter's isolation somewhat comparable to his experiences in Norway. I am made in Michigan and have returned after several years in the Southern US. The chill has reawakened my dormant ambient self. I expect I may know some of you here through my involvement in similar communities from the halcyon days of the ambient, analog heaven/digital hell, 313, and microsound lists hosted by Hyperreal.

My current passion is found within my growing eurorack modular (see links to it's presence on modulargrid, and to it's output on soundcloud in my signature) which grew out of years spent in Nord's modular environments. I have grown to love the work of Will & Dani Long's Celer output and would be so pleased to achieve similar results. I tend to get too busy too quickly though, and even though I consider myself a classical Minimalist in the Glass/Reich sense of the word, I have a difficult time leaving well enough alone when composing. A recent resurgence in making and using field recordings in my work has tempered this somewhat, and I have zoviet*france to thank for that tendency.

I look forward to getting to know you, hearing your creations, and learning. Thank you for providing another place to share and grow.
