I've been creeping around these parts for a month or two now and figured that I might as well join. I've only recently become interested in ambient tracks and soundscapes. I'm a guitar player of 15 years and a keyboard player of about 10. I've been producing music now for the better part of a decade. I've always been a textbook example of a musician.. Your typical.. Guitar amp, guitar, handful of effects kind.. But after going through some physical life issues and having to dramatically downsize the physical size of my gear.. Eventually leading to using multi effects processors and digital modeling.. I've discovered something new.. Well, something old. Tons of effects.. And I have fallen victim, so to speak.. Because I can't stop listening to ambient soundscapes. Though I still have issues actually creating ambient tracks.. I can get the right sounds.. I just don't quite know how to put them together.. I'm not great at the realm of the abstract, so to speak. I'm hoping to be able to learn a bit about that by reading and listening here. All of this being said.. I've committed myself to making ambient music as it soothes my soul like no other music.. It makes me feel free and allows me to be in my own world and atmosphere.
